Colin Daniel, BBA, FCA, FCPA, FCGA
Colin is the Principal of Strategic Consulting & Advisory Services and he has worked in Barbados, Bermuda, Canada and the Cayman Islands. He is a Fellow of the Certified Public Accountants Association of Canada, having gained his designation in 1990. He was elected to fellowship in 2004. He has been in practice since 1983 and has served in several senior positions before starting this practice in 2008, when he returned to Barbados.
Colin worked for a major accounting firm from 1983 to 1991, and gained experience in audit, accounting, and management consulting. His industry experience includes the financial services sector, hospitality, information technology as well as public sector. He has served as CFO or Controller in several organizations. His technical experience includes activity-based costing, business valuations, value-based management and strategy development.
Colin is currently a board member of an international property holding company and has served on the Board of Directors of a Qualified Insurance Company (QIC) in Barbados. Colin chaired both the Audit and Investment Committees of the QIC.
He served as a Council Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados from 2008 until May 2013 and chaired the Legislative Committee. He was a member of the Executive Committee of the Barbados Entrepreneurship Foundation. Colin was the President of CGA Bermuda, as well as a member of the board of CGA Barbados and member of the International Forum for CGA Canada.
Colin is a current member of the Barbados Chapter of the Caribbean Institute of Management Consultants and the Vice President of the Barbados Coalition of Service Industries.
